Nostalgic for classic British style? Go to St. James?s Street for custom-made shirts and shoes, or drop in at one of the famous perfumer's shops there.
Put together a vintage look with a trip to one of the famous weekend flea markets at Portobello Road and Camden Town.

Bond Street
Located in the well-to-do Mayfair District, Bond Street has been
frequented by the elite since the 1850s. New and Old Bond Streets run
between Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street and make up what is easily the
most exclusive shopping area in Britain. World-renowned designer labels mix
neatly with art dealers and jewelry shops. Here you'll find the likes of
Armani, Hermes, Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Asprey, Cartier and famous auction
houses Sotheby's and Phillips. As an added bonus, all of it is set against
the backdrop of elegant houses-turned-shops that once were home to a host of
distinguished politicians, artists and writers.
Bond Street is a haven of chic boutiques and boasts
flagship stores for Burberrys, Hermes and every girl’s favorite: Tiffany’s.
Here it’s a case of ambling amongst the Dior clad ladies who lunch and
having a friendly bank manager or plastic that can take the pressure!

Luxury shopping for the ridiculously rich
Quintessentially has 18 offices worldwide and was founded in 2000 by Aaron
Simpson and Ben Elliot, the well-connected nephew of Camilla, Duchess of
Cornwall.
It is essentially a club for the insanely wealthy, as the top level of
membership costs £24,000 a year and is "by invitation only". This buys
personal attention round the clock in any time zone.
They have taken a vow of silence with regards to their celebrity clients,
however they are known to have fixed things for Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, P.
Diddy, Jemima Khan and a galaxy of other stars.
For 24 grand a year, nothing is impossible. They have persuaded a
Premiership footballer to kick a ball around with a businessman's son, they
have delivered 12 albino peacocks to grace an A-list party at three hours'
notice, and they have relocated a certain pop diva and her entire entourage
from one hotel to another in the dead of night.
The cheapest membership is £750 a year and even this gets your whims catered
for, 24/7, 365 days a year.
The ground floor at Quintessentially HQ contains a large open-plan office
with banks of desks crammed with workers gazing at computer screens or
chatting into their headsets. A screen at one end is monitoring the level of
calls.
This is essentially a posh call centre, but instead of being located in
downtown Delhi, or on the ring-road outside Warrington, it is situated in
the pumping heart of Soho. The staff are young, savvy and very stylishly
dressed.
There is a restaurant team who can get members a table at usually
impossible-to-book celebrity haunts such as The Ivy. The nightclub
department can arrange VIP treatment at the hottest clubs in town. The
travel desk looks after flights and exclusive holiday destinations. |
