Thinking about shopping in Munich, the first thought that comes to mind is
expensive designer boutiques on Maximilianstrasse, most Germans will
inevitably think of Rudolph Moshammer (+2005), Munich's darling of the
fashion scene. But nowadays there's a diverse shopping scene even in Munich
that offers more than just exclusive designer wear at astronomic prices.
Modern high-class shopping malls like the Fünf Höfe have opened in Munich,
old established warehouses like Beck or delicatessen stores like Dallmayr
and Käfer represent tradition and quality, and the second hand stores in
Schwabing or the Sunday fleamarket at Kunstpark Ost add some variety for
those who like it a bit more alternative - Munich has a lot to offer!
The Maximilianstrasse is Munich's most expensive street and definitely
epitomizes decadence and luxury like no other boulevard in the city. Along
the Maximilianstrasse, you can find exclusive names like Gucci, Armani or
Yves St. Laurent, famous jewellers, hotels like the Four Seasons. If you are
into luxury shopping in an impressive environment where representative
monuments alternate with luxurious brand stores, it's either the
Maximilianstrasse in Munich or the Champs Elysées in Paris - the charm of
the street is not diminished if you're just window-shopping! |
